It all started seeing Alan Butchers speedway 69 c3 around 1976 in Mackay. The way it looked, it idled as the ground shook the sound was incredible and the smell as it burned methanol I was already obsessed. Two years later I’m watching corvette summer at the drive in and announce one day I’m buying a corvette. My mates all laughed saying oh yeah sure, sure you are. Finally on march 29 2015 I saw Billy idol, Cheap Trick ,The Angels and The Choir Boys and bought my 88 C4 all in one day .She’s basically stock and 210 HP at the rear last dyno .It’s not a 69 like I dreamed off but life’s great in a 88 .And if you can’t have your dream corvette, a corvette is still a corvette .
